Celebrity Hairstyle: Barbie Shou (大S)

Socialite Style: Florinda Ho (何超云)

Daughter of Hong Kong billioniare Stanley Ho and his third wife,
Florinda Ho is a heiress and socialite whose style has definitely
improved over the years. Hope there will be more photos to post when
she's photographed at more events. Her current hairstyle is very glam,
love the flattering layers and length.

The Chinese Beauty Ideal?

fashionlauncher (http://fashionlaunch.blogspot.com/) and Miss Building Blocks
(http://missbuildingblocks.blogspot.com) have asked to see what the
Chinese beauty ideal is, I guess these are what I've been brain-washed
into thinking as flawless faces, a couple of them may have had some
excess photoshopping though, but you get the idea. The first one is of
a Chinese movie star, Fan Binbin, whom many have accused of having had
plastic surgery. I've seen some of the so-called "before" pics, she
was already stunning before, so if she had anything done, it probably
was to make her chin even pointier and her nose higher.

Model Style: 杜鹃 (Du Juan)

杜鹃 (Du Juan) is one of the few Chinese models who are actually popular
with well-known designers in the west, here are photos from the many
runway shows she has done. She has been on the cover of French Vogue
and was seen in J.Crew and Gap's ad campaigns too.

Her face is actually not considered very beautiful by Chinese
standards, but she can make it abroad because her look is so "Asian."
The beauty standards in China are totally skewed and impossible to
attain in my opinion, the ideal now is a small face with pointy chin,
huge double-lidded eyes, high cheekbones and pale skintone. No wonder
so many are resorting to plastic surgery. Hope she can stay successful
and change people's perception of what is considered attractive!

Celebrity Style

Many stars turned up at the film festival in Chang Chun. My favorite
dress is Gao Yuanyuan's (高圆圆) black and white sheath, it's so classy
and striking.

Zhao Wei's dress doesn't really flatter her skintone or her style, at
least the jewelry looked perfect.

Annie Wu's (Shizuka Inoh, 伊能静) dress looks like an over-frosted
dessert, she's so beautful though so we'll forgive her bad choice for
one awards show.

Fan Binbin (范冰冰) looks simply stunning in her own surreal way, as
usual. I don't know why the press hates her, whatever the issue may
be, you gotta admit she's got "major movie star" written all over her.
