I also got a pair of Born boots for half off from eBay (yeah, I have an addiction), in a pretty safe color, brown. I still wear the pink ones more often tho.
These pics gave me some inspiration for wearing boots with cute knee-highs. I might even try colored tights, as long as I don't look like am trying for a fetishy look.

I love the babydoll dress + slouchy boots combo, it's cute and funky, so not overly cutsey. I only have one pair of 3" heel boots for special occasions. Other times I rotate among my 4 other pairs of flat boots.
