Runway: China Red

I usually don't like runway stuff, they're too far away from my life and most of the times it's the models, not the clothes, that are being showcased.

This designer line from China has some over-the-top gowns, maybe they can be wedding dresses? Chinese wedding dresses, called qipaos, are actually red and not white.

My Favorite Coats

I spent a whopping $40 on my coat this year, it's an end-of-season clearance sale priced coat from Chadwicks.com, surprisingly enough, I got complimented on it a lot. Methinks because it's an eye-popping red.

After window shopping on Sultang, I found a few of my favorites to add on here.

The plaid coat is everywhere, it's so tailored no one will confuse it with a lumberjack's uniform.

The tweed one is only about $88, if the site wasn't all in Korean, I might be tempted to order, just as well, I can rock my cheap coat for the rest of the winter yet.

Crazy About Boots

I have been wearing the same pair of Earth boots I got from eBay last year, they're pink but still pretty wearable. I envy the girls who can do the stiletto boots, for me, an 1" heel is about all I can handle. Makes commuting easier...

I also got a pair of Born boots for half off from eBay (yeah, I have an addiction), in a pretty safe color, brown. I still wear the pink ones more often tho.

These pics gave me some inspiration for wearing boots with cute knee-highs. I might even try colored tights, as long as I don't look like am trying for a fetishy look.

I Love Blazers

Blazers were hot in Fall '05, I've still got quite a collection from back then. I think they're more flattering than knits on women who're bigger than a size 6.

All these pics are of Korean clothes, they tend to be more fussy in design, if you could wear them without looking like a baby doll, then go for it. I find them great as an alternative to simple Banana stuff. A couple pieces will go a long way.

Scarf Obsession

It's too cold here to even think about some of these emsembles here, but if any of you live in warmer climates, these outfits might work out.

Scarf How-To

Hope you guys can learn something from this series of pics, I'm thinking I could prob do #8 easily, #5 is more like a fashion dare. Click on each of the pic to see which # it is.

Is a Dress Easier to Wear?

I got so many wrap dresses on clearance at end-of-season sales recently, have yet to really wear them for work. And of course, before I knew it, new kinds of dresses have become popular, jumpers, super-long tunics/dresses, argh, it's hard to keep up.

Dresses are supposed to be super-easy to wear, one-piece-dressing, etc. Right now, with layering being all trendy, we've got to think of all the coordinating pieces too, so much for "just throw it on and go."

I like this dress, not too "kawaii" (cute).

This dress and sweater combo is easy to pull off too, I'd wear this with mid-calf boots as shown. Still don't have the guts for knee-highs.

The Power of Grey

Neutrals are great, you can wear them with almost any color and end up looking coordinated. I still love prints and collect them compulsively, yet with neutrals, I've got to remind myself it'll be more versatile down the road. I like grey, it works with red, blue, yellow, white, pink, purple, orange, and of course, denim.
